The Business Situation
The Client was exploring entry into the financial services sector in Egypt as part of its expansion strategy in the MENA region. In this regard, the Client requested PKC to undertake a sector study to evaluate opportunities and prospects of growth for banking and non-banking financial services sector and suggest suitable entry strategy along with identification of potential partners/ acquisition targets.

Our Role
PKC’s scope of work included study of key macro-economic drivers, regulatory environment and structure & dynamics of the financial services sector in Egypt.

PKC undertook detailed secondary research on various key aspects of the financial services sector in Egypt, through subscribed and public data sources.

The final deliverable was in the form of a detailed report that provided a macro-economic overview of Egypt, a detailed analysis of structure and performance of the financial services sector comprising Commercial Banking and Non-Banking Financial Services viz., Corporate Finance & Advisory, Asset Management and Brokerage, profiling of key players and assessment of future outlook for the sector. The study also presented an assessment of the possible entry options across various segments.
